Así se ve la gran tormenta de nieve al noroeste de Estados Unidos

(CNN) – Una gran tormenta de nieve golpeó el noreste y una parte del Atlántico medio de Estados Unidos este martes. Así es cómo se ven las calles y los lugares de algunas de las ciudades y estados afectados.

Ciudad de Nueva York

La fuerte y pesada nieve cayó en Nueva York cuando los vientos batieron la ciudad. El estado de emergencia climático, declarado por el alcalde Bill de Blasio, seguía vigente al final de este martes.

El gobernador Andrew Cuomo, por su parte, anunció que se estaban restableciendo algunos servicios de tren suspendidos por la emergencia, a medida que disminuía la severidad de la tormenta.

Las calles estaban bastante resbaladizas y medio derretidas, pero la nieve estaba relativamente contenida en la capital del país.

Ron Murphy registró cómo la nieve se iba acumulando progresivamente en su patio en Apalachin, Nueva York, durante la noche. Empezó a grabar el video cerca de las 2 de la mañana.

Y una autopista en Yonkers, New York, que usualmente es muy transitada, estaba prácticamente vacía.
