(CNN) – ¡Por fin! Estos fanáticos no tendrán que esperar hasta el próximo año y muchos lo han hecho toda, toda su vida. Así había sido desde 1908.

Pero la sequía eterna terminó la madrugada del jueves. Millones de aficionados de los Chicago Cubs esperaron por ello toda su vida y recordaron a quienes murieron sin haber visto nunca la conquista de una Serie Mundial.

A pesar de ello, los siguientes aficionados de los Cachorros han tenido una extraordinaria fe en su equipo. Cada uno de ellos ha esperado más de 80 años para ser campeones del beisbol de Estados Unidos.

Y estaban más que dispuestos a dejar que la bandera "W" volara. Sus festejos fueron apoteósicos.
